As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Platforms team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. 

Job responsibilities

1. Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
2. Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
3. Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
4. Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
5. Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
6. Demonstrating strong expertise to solve business problems through innovation, collaborate with stakeholders, and thrive in a diverse, experimental, and improvement-focused environment.
7. Exhibiting Proficiency in managing the firm's capital reserves and collaborate globally to share ideas and innovations.
8. Collaborate across teams to drive features and eliminate blockers, and produce high-quality documentation of cloud solutions as reusable patterns

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

1. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied
2. Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
3. Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
4. Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
5. Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
6. In depth Python experience, Big Data e.g. Hadoop/ HDFS/ Spark / Scala / Splunk 
7. Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines 
8. Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
9. In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
10. Experience in Agile SDLC and working proficiency in developmental toolsets
11. Successful track record on several major technology implementation projects

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

1. Excellent team spirit and ability to work in collaborative environment
2. Ability to working under own initiative
3. Knowledge of various financial instruments is desirable
4. Core Java 8, Spring, JPA/Hibernate, React JavaScript desirable
