Target Mafia is looking for an Application Security Engineer to protect our crypto campaigns, Web3 products, and internal tools. You’ll work alongside media buyers, data scientists, and developers to build secure systems that safeguard campaigns, user wallets, and sensitive data. This is a remote-friendly role with real responsibility in the high-stakes world of crypto and iGaming.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers to strengthen the security of our backend, smart contracts, and internal tooling.
- Develop and implement solutions to mitigate security risks across crypto, DeFi, and performance marketing platforms.
- Assess threats, provide guidance, and document security best practices for the team.
- Build systems that prevent recurring vulnerabilities in backend services and on-chain integrations.
- Assist with incident response and root-cause analysis if security issues arise.
- Support secure deployment pipelines, wallet integrations, and ad campaign automation tools.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in application, web, or crypto security.
- Strong software development skills (backend focus).
- Understanding of authentication, cryptography, and secure data handling.
- Passion for protecting user funds, wallets, and sensitive marketing data.
- Ability to work independently and in a remote team across multiple time zones.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in crypto, DeFi, Web3, or blockchain platforms.
- Technical degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Familiarity with secure smart contract patterns and blockchain best practices.
- Knowledge of performance marketing platforms and ad tech security.
